Landmarks - Selfridges

This is an amaizing building. Must see if you come to Birmingham.
"Four storeys high, and wrapped in a sinuous, seamless outer skin decorated with 15,000 spun aluminium discs painted blue, like some XXXL dress by Paco Rabanne, Selfridges is a truly audacious achievement. Designed by Future Systems, architects of the Space Age-style press pavilion at Lord's cricket ground in St John's Wood, it has about it, from the outside at least, not just something of a Pop era frock, but something of the sea and even the ocean depths - something, too, of outer space exploration." (Jonathan Glancey, The Guardian, Monday September 1 2003).

Benjamin Stone - Knight of the Camera

"Benjamin Stone is a national institution. Photography has been with him, as has been well said, not a hobby, but a passion." (The Strand Magazine, 1910). This photo exhibition represents Benjamin's first major display of his work in his home town of Birmingham, the most iconic images from the vast Sir Benjamin Stone Collection held by the Central Library.
